Yesterday marked the launch of our 2016 Chester Community Support Scheme – the second consecutive year the scheme will run.
Since the launch of the Chester Community Scheme in 2015, we have awarded £3,400 in grants to seven community groups across Chester. Last year, grant winners included: Chester Gladiators, which was given £400 to help set up an under 9 and under 11 rugby team, Chester Swimming Association, which received £500 to help fund the re-opening of the Chester City Baths, and Chester Operatic Society, which was awarded £500 to spend on a new electronic piano, replacing the old instrument which had been used for the past 10 years.
How to apply
We are hoping to be able to make a positive difference in the area again by inviting local charities, community groups and organisations from across Chester to apply for grants of up to £500 to support the work they are doing in the area.
Applications will be reviewed quarterly, with grants ranging from £100 to £500. The scheme only considers applications from groups whose work benefits the local community; applications from individuals, projects that promote party political activities or religious causes, projects that benefit or involve animals and commercial enterprises are not accepted.
