Exceptional awards for exceptional staff

Equilibrium’s client manager Matthew Dobson has been honoured as the first ever recipient of the Worshipful Company of Insurer’s (WCI) award for the level six Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

Equilibrium’s client manager Matthew Dobson has been honoured as the first ever recipient of the Worshipful Company of Insurer’s (WCI) award for the level six Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

Each year the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) hand-picks exceptional candidates, and Matthew was chosen from over 400 candidates who took the Advanced Diploma.

He was thrilled to receive the award: ‘It was a great feeling to be the inaugural winner of this prize. It came as quite a shock when I learned that I was selected from around 400 other candidates, particularly as several months had passed since my last exam sitting.’

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) took a variety of criteria into account, including the number of distinctions and the level at which they were achieved. Matthew earned a total of three distinctions in financial planning process, financial planning practice and personal tax and trust planning.

Nicola Mellor, the Qualifications Director of Chartered Insurance Institute, said, ‘Reaching level 6 standard in a technical area is a significant achievement in itself, but doing so with multiple distinctions is certainly worth celebrating.’
