    Charities we’ve helped

The Equilibrium Foundation has helped many organisations and charities over the years since it was established in 2010. Below are some of those who we’ve helped so far.

    Hullo

Hullo is a new, not-for-profit that offers conversation. Trained volunteers are available 9am-9pm, 7 days a week just to talk to anyone who wants a conversation – about their family, the weather, the dog or something they are worried about. Covid-19 has made us all aware how much we need human contact, and Hullo provides just that. It’s not a medical or mental health organisation, counselling service or helpline. But Hullo works in partnership with other charities and can refer callers who are in need of specialist help and advice to those services.

The Equilibrium Foundation has provided regular funding to Hullo since June 2020 and enabled them to recruit their first member of staff to coordinate their amazing work.

    Creating Adventures

Many people with lifelong conditions such as Down’s Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum Disorders get great support when they are children, and then very little help as soon as they turn 18. Creating Adventures provides a range of activities to provide great times and give additional skills to adults with Autism and learning disabilities. As well as their Beautiful Noise choir they offer an art club, cooking classes and (when it’s not lockdown!) get-togethers and trips that really enrich people’s lives.

The Equilibrium Foundation has given a grant of £3,000 this year to support Creating Adventures’ amazing work.

    The Bursary Foundation

The Bursary Foundation connects high achieving pupils from low income backgrounds with the best educational opportunities. They work closely with primary schools to identify pupils with high potential from low income backgrounds and support these pupils with tutoring and mentoring so that they and their families are well prepared and well informed before sitting entrance exams for partner schools. Supported pupils go on to a number of state grammar and fee-paying schools in the North West and achieve great things!

The Equilibrium Foundation has committed to supporting two talented young people from low-income backgrounds through the whole of their secondary education by funding half of their fees, with the other half being provided by the schools.
