Budding investor makes winning trade
Lydia Pope, a year 12 student at the Alderley Edge School for Girls, wins our Fantasy Investment League 2016.
Year 12 student, Lydia Pope, from Alderley Edge School for Girls, has proved that dealing in stocks and shares isn’t limited to the City, after winning the Equilibrium Fantasy Investment League 2016. Lydia made a 2.88 per cent profit on the £300 investment fund she was given at the start of the competition, holding off tough competition from the 13 other pupils, aged between 15 and 17, who entered.
Lydia was presented with an Apple Watch and a certificate for her achievements, and the school received £250 for taking part in the competition.
Susan Goff, Headmistress of Alderley Edge School for Girls, said:
We have really enjoyed taking part in the Equilibrium Fantasy Investment League since the competition was launched in 2012 – it’s been an invaluable way of giving the girls a true insight into how stocks and shares operate in the real world. All the girls did brilliantly under the challenging circumstances.
