Winners of our Community Support Scheme – spring 2025

Since 2015, The Equilibrium Foundation has been proud to support local organisations striving to transform our community through our Community Support Scheme. Twice a year, not-for-profits operating in North West England are given the incredible opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £500, enabling them to continue their vital work and reach new heights.
We are thrilled to announce the winners for spring 2025:
Little Green Sock Project
A dedicated team of local people who strongly believe that all children should have the basics they need to thrive. They harness the support of the local community to collect items that are no longer required and gift them on to those who need them the most.
“This award will have a direct and life-changing impact on 16 children and their families who would otherwise not have access to a safe place to sleep. With this sponsorship, we will purchase cot mattresses, enabling us to provide preloved cots that meet safety standards and ensure secure, comfortable sleeping arrangements for babies and young children in need.
“Families facing financial hardship, domestic upheaval, or crisis situations will benefit most, including single parent families.”– Catherine D’Albertanson, Co-Founder
Elite Community Hub CIC
A social enterprise based in Bolton which aims to reach out to those most in need by providing boxing, fitness and self-defence training. It gives young people a place to hang out and develop themselves, while also diverting those who might otherwise get involved in crime.
“Without organisations like Equilibrium, we wouldn’t be able to create the lasting impact we strive for. This grant will enable us to continue and expand our boxing initiatives, equipping our community with the skills and opportunities they need for a brighter future.” – Kallum Wallbank, Project Manager
Her-Place Charitable Trust
Previously known as Motherwell Cheshire, this charity is dedicated to empowering and uplifting women through tailored wellbeing services, advocacy and community support.
“The money donated will go towards supporting families that access our community share hub, which provides school uniform and baby supplies. Our community share hub is expanding and we are always in need of donations.” – Kate Blakemore, Founder/CEO
Active Hope Ltd
A Christian charity based in Warrington, committed to providing quality outdoor and adventurous activities for children and young people from all backgrounds offering them new and exciting opportunities and experiences.
“This funding will be instrumental in the purchase of safety harnesses for us to use across our projects on climbing sessions. It’s wonderful to see local organisations supporting charity initiatives like ours, and this contribution will truly help us to enhance the lives of many local children and young people.” – Paul Cannell, Projects Manager
Manchester Men’s Health CIC
Their mission is to reach those men who are most at risk of being harmful to themselves or others and enable them to seek positive strategies and methods to lead a happy and less harmful existence.
“This grant enables those that attend to have the chance to develop their creative writing skills, by coming together each week, with others at The Well Being Centre, Old Trafford, Manchester and learning from published writers. The workshops are accessible to anyone, as the overall aim is to improve health and well-being. Many people will benefit from this grant.” – Tony Sheppard, Director
