Why being cyber secure is essential

Protect your sensitive information

Safeguards personal information, financial data, and intellectual property from being stolen or misused.

Prevent financial loss

Cyber attacks can cause massive financial disruptions, direct theft of money, and expensive recovery costs.

Defend against evolving threat

Cyber criminals constantly use sophisticated methods like phishing, malware, and ransomware to target, regardless of company size.

Protect against human error

Up to 95% of cyber attacks happen due to human error, such as weak passwords or falling for phishing, making proactive security training vital.

To stay in control of online accounts

Email, social media, cloud storage and subscription services all contain valuable personal information that cyber security helps safeguard.

Four common personal cyber attacks

Phishing

Phishing is the most prevalent form of cyber crime delivered via email. Criminals design messages to create panic or curiosity, prompting recipients to react without thinking and take the bait. That bait could be a malicious link, a credential form, or a virus-laden attachment. The goal is to steal personal information for financial gain.

What is phishing?

Smishing

Smishing follows the same playbook as phishing but lands in your text messages instead of your inbox. Criminals send messages designed to trigger urgency or curiosity, nudging you to tap a link or hand over personal details before you've had a chance to think. The bait is often a fake delivery notification, a bank alert, or a too-good-to-be-true offer. The goal is the same as always: your personal information, used for their financial gain.

Quishing

Quishing takes the same approach but hides the threat inside a QR code. Criminals embed malicious links within codes that look entirely legitimate, often placing them in emails, printed materials, or even physical locations. Because QR codes are designed to be scanned without a second thought, most people never stop to question where they might lead. One scan is all it takes to land on a fake website designed to harvest your credentials or download malware onto your device. Same goal, different disguise.

Wishing

Wishing" (a fusion of WhatsApp and Phishing) refers to fraudulent attempts to steal sensitive information, personal data, or money from users through WhatsApp. Scammers send fake messages designed to look legitimate to trick users into clicking malicious links, sharing account verification codes, or downloading malware.
