When I joined Equilibrium, I was excited by the honesty, enthusiasm, and absolute client focus of the team, along with their willingness to consider new ideas from everyone in the firm. I’m an economics graduate and my working background is in investments. I’d previously worked for banks and for a commodities broker, and the move to Equilibrium was a subtle but deliberate career change. I wanted to work with real people, rather than institutions or corporates.

I first came in just to develop my experience of working for a wealth manager. After a few weeks, the firm gave me a temporary contract and a few months later offered me a permanent role as an investment analyst. Since then I‘ve been promoted to financial planner and then partner.

Being able to make a real difference to people’s lives is the most rewarding part of the job. For one young family I work with, the father was working weekends to cover school fees and mortgage costs. By restructuring their finances, repaying their mortgage and creating a monthly income from their investments, we enabled him to stop working weekends and spend more time with his children, including weekends away. That sums up why I love working at Equilibrium.
